2023 F-1's Races

Here it is re latest news of the 2023 Canadian F-1 GP:

1.  It rained for 2 days, almost continuously, & it affected not only the Practice Sessions & also the Qualifying Sessions.

2.  For Q1, the track was initially just wet & therefore some surprising results.  As it kept raining, Alex Albon was fastest in Q2 with intermediates.  Q3 produced more surprises, it rained even heavier than before and most drivers were caught using the wrong tires and hurriedly changed into wets.  Max was the first to change into wet and secured first place, then Hulkenberg, Alonso, Hamilton, then Russell which will be the starting order for tomorrow's main race.

If tomorrow is just as wet, watch out for these rain masters:  Hamilton, Russell (yes, Russell), Max, and Alonso.

A wet track is always a big challenge for drivers but an absolute delight for spectators.

There will be live telecast, starting at 1400 hours!

The Canadian F-1 GP has just been completed.

Max, Alonso, Hamilton.

RB (Max) was noticeably 0.1" per lap faster than the nearest rival, while Alonso was fractionally faster than Hamilton.

MB has improved in the last two races but not quite there yet.  Let's hope that it will keep improving to give RB for a run of its money!

F-1's next stop in 2023 is in Austria this week-end.

So, on Canada Day, we can watch time trials & Qualifying Session.  The Real Thing happens on SUN.  I have heard that in Austria, a new race format will be used.

Should we care as long as there is a close and exciting race?

The NEW race format is basically a new name for Qualifying Session which is now called "Sprint Shootout" in 2023's Austrian F-1 GP.

After the shootout, then there was a short sprint race to decide the final starting grid for the main race.

Max, Perez, Sanz (?) will start as the top 3.

There will be live telecast.  RB which I consider is the "cheater team" is still faster than the others.

The Austrian F-1 GP has just ended:

Max, LeClerc, Perez.

Based on today's result, I will place MB's pitiful results in the past 2-3 years squarely on it technical team, because Norris (MaClaren which is NOT a car manufacturer), uses engine from MB but finished 2 places ahead of Hamilton who is a better driver than Norris.  I think the whole MB technical team will get grilled.

2023's British F-1 GP will be held this weekend.  British drivers should have a slight advantage as they are more familiar with the track than other nationalities.

Tomorrow will be the usual practice session. SAT will be Qualifying sessions, & SUN will be for real racing.
