Years of extremely cheap to almost free money borrowing is coming to roost. The war just triggered it, ending won't solve the underlying issue. US debt rose by 8 TRILLION dollars during Trump's tenure. I have a feeling they will just kick the issues down for future generations like they have been doing.
If you do hire a financial advisor, stay away from mutual funds. They are designed to make advisor more fees hence they push. ETF is equivalent to mutual funds with very low fees baked into price.
Majority of the FAs working in the banks do not really look after the clients' interest. Everything they learnt are pretty useless in getting their license to sell financial products. Read about portfolio management in various economic envrionemnt will help.
Self reliance is more important than believing the FAs.
