All central banks are reactive. Once one major country forced to raise rate, the others have no choice and must follow. Otherwise, the loss in currency value will damage the economy very quickly.

Look at Japan and its yen. It is the latest casualty in this dumb game.

At the end they always break something ...

Inflation is normally controlled by rate hikes, and of course there are other factors. But rate cuts definitely won't help inflation.

Then most likely we will get another rate hike then.  
Also, members are congress are floating the idea of "inflation" cheque now.  It will probably end up with corporations like the US covid stimulus cheques.

Yes we certainly will get another rate hike. Maybe another 50 or even 75 points. And then another one maybe 25 and another 25.

So you saying I should lock into some fixed rate loans? Lol
I swear fundamental economic principals don't apply to the economy anymore in this corporate greed and bailout world we live in.

Fixed rate is very high as well. The banks already accounted for the forecasted rate hikes for the next year or two so at this stage I don't think it's good idea anymore. Lock in 5 years last year would be a great choice!

Luckily, I already did before the rate hike.  Got good advice from friends in the industry and advisors to lock down on low low rates.
