The Qualifying Sessions for the 2022's Canadian F-1 GP has just finished. The starting grid positions have been decided & for the first two rows, they are:
Max, Alonso
Sainz, Hamilton.
Q1 was basically a wet session.
Q2. Rain stopped, some dry patches appeared.
Q3. More dry patches on a slippery track. Russell was in 3rd when he tried on slicks which were not pre-mature for the track, he lost control, and ended well below among the top 10. However, Russell was faster than Hamilton before the tyre change!
My observation:
- MB was not as fast as RB or Ferrari.
- MB's bouncing was evident on the straight, which caused MB to lose speed & when cornering.
- A few races ago, I stated Hamilton might be playing games with Team MGT to let Russell out-qualify him in all races. Now, it is almost apparent that Russell is actually faster than Hamilton.
- I think only DNF could prevent RB from winning tomorrow. |
