In addition, the car owner must report this incident to the police, then wait a few months before all efforts to find the alleged stolen car has been exhausted.

Lastly, don't expect FULL compensation from the Insurance company and only on the low side of market value!

这个看保险公司了，报案是肯定要的，有了policy的case number才能去claim。像dragondick说的，赔付过程很长，价格也是on the low end of the market value.

先报警祈祷车别被找到找到了不赔如果找不到保险一般前两年按照新车赔（看你保险选项有没有选这个）后面就按照二手车赔偿

正解。我听说也是这样的，必须要买那种特殊的保险选项，而且那种是针对新车。
同样好奇楼主什么牌子车被偷，大家可以避开那个牌子
