2020's German F-1 GP.


It has been a disappointment for me personally.

First of all, 2 Official Practice Sessions were rained out.

There was live telecast of today's Qualifying Session.  I learned from F-1's Official Website that MB occupied the first row, Bottas and Hamilton.  Max took third.

The race is tomorrow.  However, no live TV coverage.

It just finished followed the 2020 German F-1GP vis F-1 Website's lap-by-lap commentary.

Hamilton, Max, & Daniel finished 1-2-3.

Bottas flat-spotted his tire in a corner and pitted.  After exit, he developed power failure and retired.

With this win, Hamilton either matched or broke Michael Schmacher's record for the most wins in F-1.  The next goal is probably matching MS's 7 World Championship titles.

The 2020 Portugal F-1 GP will be held tomorrow, not sure whether there will be live telecast, as live telecast has been missing for two races now.

Starting position will be:  Hamilton, Bottas, Max, then LeLerc.

Hamilton only matched Schumacher's record of the most wins in the last race, so Hamilton has the first of many races to break that record!

History was made today at the Portuguese F-1 GP when Hamilton won because he broke Michael Schumacher's record of the most F-1 wins!

With still a few years' racing left, Hamilton will likely win at least 10 most races which will make the new winning-est F-1 driver in history, and which I believe is unbreakable for a long, long time.

Back to the race, all the excitement occured in the first few laps.  Hamilton, the pole sitter used Medium tires which were not up to speed at the start, and Saiz, with Soft on, overtook everyone by surprise to lead the race.  So, it was Saiz, followed by Bottas, Max (?), then Hamilton.

It took a long while for Hamilton to snatch the lead back and never looked back.

Final standing, Hamilton, Bottas, Max, LeCler.

I didn't know that today will have another F-1 GP race and with live TV coverage too.  This is the 3rd F-1 GP to be held in Italy!

The 3rd Italian F-1 GP of 2020 has just finished, in the order of Hamilton, Bottas, and Daniel Ricciardo.

With this win, MB has won both the Constructors' and Drivers' Championship of 2020.

Back to the race itself..........

Bottas started well as he was on pole.  Hamilton slipped to 3rd (almost to 4th) at the start.

Hamilton made a strategic call, pitted just before Virtual Safety Car was called, and jumped into the lead which he held until finish.

Bottas was both unlucky and mentally not tough enough to be a top driver.  Unlucky, because he drove over some debris and slightly damaged the under side of his car which affected the air dynamics and his time.  However, mentally, Bottas cannot be a top driver, because he always make mistakes while in the lead and being chased by others.  All these mistakes affected his timing and positions in the race.

The most unlucky driver was actually Max, at one point he was in second and looked certain to finish second too, but then his newly installed soft tires in a previous pit stop "disintegrated" and must retire.
