Any form of exchange  whether it's intangible or tangible to distort or influence reviews from reality is considered a "shill".  My 2 cents.

We don't  need "hard proof".    One just needs to simply understand human psychology and ecoystem stakeholder, objective, and revenue generation model.   

Incentives drives behaviour.   His behaviour was clearly displayed and the ecosystem partners All benefited handsomely
