Does it make sense to accept SO MUCH bribe?

It amazes me that Officials would accept that much bribe money and store them, without thinking what they can do with it.
What is the point, just burn them after death.
Lots of times they cannot even spend it.
I remember the old shows talking about detective will go to night clubs and gambling joint to look for possible suspects any time big robbery occurred.  If no money was spend , some crooks may not get caught at all.

They cannot put them in the bank , which is a lot safer and may collect interest.  But cannot spend it, so why bother.  May be if they do not accept anymore, their accomplices may consider he is a risky asset and remove him to protect the secret.

Here is the funny case in Shenzhen.  More bribe money return than the bribe accepted.
So that official is a good asset manager, generating excellent return for the CAPITAL  .   LOL

Such things happpen, sometime you dont like or need something but someone just try to give you no matter you want or not. I guess this man is the same, he dont want to be a collapsed officier, however he cant stop other ppl doing that~
