Good news for Toronto!

Recently I have been lying low because you know why, but this is very reassuring news.

多倫多一眾市議員認為Bill C-36不乎合國家憲法. 集體去信省長, 要求將法案交給最高法院推翻. 同時亦要求本市警方不要執行這條法律.

溫哥華和滿地可兩地的市政府和警方都以表明立場. 不同意這條有違國家憲法的新法律, 並聲明不會執行該法律. 這基本上等同於在當地合法化了. 多倫多亦有望很快也跟溫哥華和滿地可一樣.

Agreed. This is wonderful news. Although I am not too worried even before reading this.

This Bill C-36 is obviously unconstitutional. It is also a slap in the face to the judiciary. The old law was thrown out by the Supreme Court, the Harper government then makes a law that is almost exactly the same but worse than the previous one. It was be struck down by Supreme Court again very soon.

Meanwhile I don't think the cops are going to bother enforcing a law that won't be around for long. Its a waste of time, energy, and resources, they have other priorities. As long as we stay away from minors and that kind of thing, there's not much to worry about.

Some guys are thinking about the worst case scenario and scared shitless. Seriously though, the real worst case scenario isn't even related to law and punishment. The real worst case scenario is getting STDs and HIV. You guys realize even regular girls you meet may carry disease? You guys realize that even condoms aren't 100% safe? So what are you going do, give up sex for the rest of your life just to be totally safe? Seriously, even crossing the street isn't 100% safe.

感謝fireandice發掘出如此好消息，也期望省長儘快有回覆。相信多倫多警方暫時會按兵不動，不會率先做C-36法例下全省及全國第一個'爛頭卒'。我明天便再出動，決把C-36拋諸腦後。在此也感謝多倫多一眾巿議員，給用屁股思考的'麥基'重重的一記耳光。
