Sorry guys, I promised to give a full report on my HK hunting experiences but still have not delivered. Here's part 2, and I hope I can finish the rest within a week.

馬檻
Based on my limited experience, 馬檻 is the worst choice in all aspects. The location is always terrible, the prices are not cheap, the selection is few, and the quality is generally poor. You can find 馬檻 from online advertisements, or when you see them on the street you can just walk in. They are easy to spot.
The first 馬檻 I tried was located in a sketchy old apartment unit in Jordan. Found it from an online ad. The keeper looked and talked exactly like 田雞 from the HK movie 豪情. Typical blow water king, he talked as though he was a big shot in the HK underworld, and that his garage was the top in the entire industry. Anyways, he had 2 girls, the first one was very young and tiny. She looked barely legal and I didn't want to risk it. Beside, she wasn't pretty, just young. Her price was $400 (all prices in this report will be HK$) for 45mins, which is mid-range in HK, but I've seen many prettier and lower price. The second one was older, possibly mid-to-late 20s, with a 風騷 look that is very 勾引人. She looked like one of my friends, so I picked her. She was $480, and to me, not worth the money. First off, the room was dirty and the bed had an unpleasant smell which was detectable after I layed down. Her body was also a bit flabby and not fit, which was only noticeable after she removed her clothes. Service was so-so. Quick shower, quick bbbj, then slap on some ky and then onto the main course. Refused to change positions because she said she was tired, so it was missionary all the way through. After I finished and left the room, the keeper greeted me and ask me how it was. I said it was alright, and he started bragging about how popular this MM was and implied that I was lucky to be able to book her.
Second 馬檻 was in Mongkok. Ever since Langham Place opened up, Portland Street is cleaned up compared to the past. The street behind it is Shanghai Street and thats where all the pimps and hookers are now. On the intersection of Shanghai Street and Soy Street, that is 馬檻 central. There is a 7-11 on that intersection and on several nights which I was there, there was a guy that look like a 黑社會大佬, or at least a 頭目, standing in front of the 7-11. It was the same person every night. He would just stand there doing nothing, and every so often pimps and girls alike would go up to him and hand over money. Usually a stack of $100 bills. This was done in plain sight and there are cops patrolling that area too. So I was kinda surprised. As for the pimps, they are dispersed around that 7-11 and when you walk by they will approach you trying to get your business. Also around that location are a few 馬檻. They are easy to spot because they have big cardboard signs at the entrance stairwells that give the price (590 for russians, 260 for 舵地/北姑/馬拉). There are also many MMs that do nothing but walk from 1 馬檻 to another. Most of these MMs are similar to the Cdn$120 category MMs over here although a few of them are would fall into the Cdn$140-150 category. They won't talk to you in public though. If you like one of them, then just see which 馬檻 they go to and follow them up. All the 馬檻 in that area use this same group of MMs (which we didn't realize at first).
Anyways, me and my friend (it was a first time for both of us) went into 1 of these places. The 鐘王 (thats what they call the guys that keep watch inside the 馬檻) ask us what girls we want. I asked if there was any Russian because the sign said there was. We pretty much get laughed at in our faces and was told only 舵地 & 北姑 to choose from, all the rest are just false promotion. So we go into the room and wait. Soon a couple of girls, which we previously saw walking around outside, comes in. Not that attractive so we left. Went to another 馬檻, and same dialogue exchange with the 鐘王. Also told that the price on the sign doesn't include the room fee which was $120. So the total would be $380. Ok, we go into the room and wait, and soon the same girls we saw at the previous 馬檻 comes in (and thats when we realized those same group of girls serve all the 馬檻). One girl said to us, "no need to shop around, its just gonna be us". The girls are not that attractive, but at that moment, thinking with the little head, so I picked one out of the three that looked kinda cute.
The room was small and dirty just like at the other 馬檻, actually even worse than that 1. If you've been to DT Terry's place (on College St), that is what the location is similar to. They also have a black/white TV (must be an antique) playing AV. On closer look, the MM I picked worth only 6.5/10 for her face. After she took off her clothes, her body was also flabby, worth 6/10. She claims to be 舵地, and her Cantonese is fluent without much detectable accent, but I'm still skeptical. She likes to talk alot which was the best thing about the meal because I learned quite alot. She said she was 28 and working in this industry for 7 years already and had a 3 year old son from her ex-bf who disappeared after he found out she was pregnant. She also says that out of the $380 I'm paying, $120 goes toward the 鐘王 of the 馬檻, $50 goes towards her 老豆 (the pimp), and she keeps $200. She also says she's surprised to see me and my friend because usually there are very few young guys like us and most of the customers are old geezers that don't know how to use the internet.
Once again, the service was very basic. Quick shower for 2. Then she asked if cbj is ok because its safer, so i said sure. After a so-so cbj, she slaps on a huge amount of ky. She obliged 2 positions (cowgirl and missionary) and gave some poorly performed vocals. Then quick shower for 2 again, and she puts on her clothes and leaves before I do. I pay at counter to the 鐘王 and walked back to the 7-11 to meet up my friend where i saw that MM again but she pretend didn't see me.
Overal, I find that 馬檻 are the worst choice for hunting. If you want surroundings and a reasonable assurance of quality, go for hotel girls. If you want great value and don't mind spending some time searching to find gems, go for 一樓一. If you want the lowest price possible, go for 企街. 馬檻 provides you with the worst all worlds. The only exception where u can find worse is the bars/karaoke's in Wanchai Lockhart Road. I have a friend that lives near there, and sometimes I go crash at his place when I stay out late at night and don't want to wake up my entire family. If you walk by that area during evening or at night, you will see many FUGLY old dark skin south-east asian MMs trying to drag gwailos inside. They are so ugly that if i was trapped and given the choice of either fucking them for free and paying $$ not to fuck them, I will gladly pay $$ not to have to touch them. However, usually they will not approach locals but instead target the gwailos, which there are a lot of in that area, only.
