I found it interesting during my shopping experience in the famous Scarboro supermarket.
Lady in front of me bought 130 worth of food, some for her relative going to school in Gueph.
I commented that she should use credit card to get at least 1.30 worth of cash rebates.
Guess what she gave the cash containg one counterfeit 20. Supervisor confiscated her bill saying that she is entitled to do so by the police (what if it is not counterfeit then she got a free 20 to spend herself). I did not know about that rule.
That is another reason not to take or give cash, i.e. CASHLESS society. Why waste the chance to earn 1.30 without you lifting a finger. On top of it, you would not even have to pay until the next billing cycle. Only place I use CASH is where they charge extra or not allow to use credit card (most of time to avoid tax that we pay and merchants do not report and pocket tax).
Let us say cheers to credit card usage. |
