A stripper advocacy group is fighting back against Ontario strip club closures by calling them unconstitutional. Work Safe Twerk Safe called for a judicial review of the province-wide closures on Monday, accusing Ford's government of discriminating against sex workers. Strip clubs were closed back in September as parts of Ontario reverted back to a modified stage two of its reopening plan.

The provincial government is now being accused by the organization of sensationalizing two COVID-19 outbreaks at strip clubs. The document argues that restaurants who were also suffering from high infections rate at the time largely avoided being scrutinized. “We feel that the decision to enact these provisions to close strip clubs specifically relates to discriminatory and stereotypical assumptions about strippers as vectors of disease,” the release states. "We want to be treated same as other bars and nightclubs. We feel we have been left out of decisions that affect us." Ford announced on October 26, 2020, that he would not be extending the reach of his modified stage two plan that would force indoor dining to close in additional cities.
