Trade war between China and TRUMP

Now that the trade negotiation did not go through, more tariff coming on both sides.

This is really not just a trade war, but rather a PK between them.

Huawei is one company being picked on by Trump, next could be DJI (Drone vendor).
Without updates from Android, Huawei may be shit out of luck.  But not so fast, apparently there is a replacement for Android soon to show up from Huawei called Hong Meng (which will also be used by date center servers based in ARM, bought by Japan Softbank).
This is self reliance thinking Chinese had to employ again and again.
Luckily TSMC will honor the supply of Huawei designed Kirin 7 nm CPU chips , which Intel cannot produce YET.

Wait till China employs the rare earth supply "TRUMP" card, and also COBALT supply chain in Congo.
Lots of technology products and car battery supply will have big issue too.

US cannot stand the thought of their being behind in new tech, namely 5G, AI, Face recognition and China with its vast pool of engineering and scientific talent pool.

Also the GPS system used in Chinese smart phone can make use of the Bedo Chinese GPS satellites, not dependent on US 24 GPS satellites.  Imagine shooting a missile from China using US GPS system, that will be so DUMB.

World oil producers such as Russia, Venezuela, Iran etc are also to get out of the US influence and sanctions by basing price in RMB and Euro.

If US is accusing Huawei listening to communications, guess who did that to Markel (German chancellor) .

Looks like most other countries (some in Five Eyes) are not being influenced by US NOT to use Huawei 5 G tech,   cheaper and better,  may be not being eavesdropped by US FBI, CIA or NSA, controlled by Chinese equipment.

One channel I happened to get from you tube is very useful for more info on Huawei is Inews (from Taiwan, not Indonesia).  The anchor is a 42 years old pretty lady from Taiwan and I found her to be a very good speaker with Taiwan accent.

1.  Brother "mmpleaser", haven't "seen" you for quite a while.

2a.   The Trade War was started by USA,  China so far has been responding to US economic aggression.  I call it "economic colonization", Chinese Foreign Affairs Spokesman calls it "economic terrorism" which is even more appropriate.

b.  USA was seeking a total surrender from China (just like Japan bowing to USA pressure in the 60's)which will never happen.  China has been subjected to numerous humiliations in the last 150 years, this is the first time China is in a position to demand equality.  If China's accepts surrender this time, it will be probably another 150 years of "slavery".

c.  DT governs by instinct without studying history and recent affairs.  China is now the world's largest consumer market - similar to USA right after WW-II, and a major supplier of consumer and hi-tech products , China could survive even without USA market, albeit at a slower pace but still faster than USA economy.

d.  DT has already alienated European allies who will no longer obey USA's commands.

e.  Containment of China has forced China to form closer ties with Russia which China has resisted for many years due to distrust of Russia.

f.  China is the largest holder of US Government Bonds.  If China starts selling the bond holding and other countries follow suit, where will US Govt find new suckers to buy new issues of Bonds to cover deficits and supplement expenditures?

I see this trade war/economic terrorism as a blessing in disguise for China, because USA has exposed its real intentions and China will not treat USA kindly from now on.

Donald Trump told his predecessor Jimmy Carter that he was concerned about China becoming a superpower, the former US president has disclosed.
Trump made his first call as president to Carter from the West Wing in April, according to the White House.
On Sunday, Carter, who established formal diplomatic relations with China as president in 1979, told a Sunday school in his native Georgia about their conversation.
“The main thing that he emphasised to me was, the main purpose of his call, was to say very frankly to me on a private line that the Chinese were getting way ahead of the United States,” he said.

Carter said Trump had called him in response to a letter he had sent about relations with China, adding that he was “delighted” and “surprised” to receive the call.
The 94-year-old had marked the 40th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Washington and Beijing with a warning of the risks of sliding into a “modern cold war”.

“As you have heard to your concern perhaps, the Chinese are likely to be number one superpower economically within the next few years,” Carter told the congregation at Maranatha Baptist Church in his hometown of Plains on Sunday.

He then questioned what being a superpower meant, saying it’s “not just who has the most powerful military, but who is a champion of the finer things in life”.
Markets are focused on the wrong trade war risk
As a devout Christian who frequently teaches Sunday school classes, Carter said peace, the environment, human rights and equality were things all Christians should believe in.
The White House said in an earlier statement that Carter sent Trump “a beautiful letter” about the negotiations with China and they had “a very good telephone conversation about President Trump’s stance on trade with China and numerous other topics”.
Carter, the longest living former US president, was making his first public appearance since he had hip replacement surgery last month after a fall.

In April he suggested that the different amounts America and China spent on their militaries might have had an impact on their respective levels of economic growth.
He said the United States was “the most warlike nation in the history of the world” due to a desire to impose American values on other countries, whereas China was investing its resources into infrastructure projects such as high-speed rail.
“Since 1979, do you know how many times China has been at war with anybody? None. And we have stayed at war,” he said.

Another "Trump" card can be used.  Antibiotics.

Due to the low profit margin, they are mainly produced in China and India.

Since India encountered trade war with Trump.  China and India should join hands and stop exporting them.
