HK to Shenzhen High Speed Rail underground

Just watched a youtube video on the HK to China High Speed Rail.

Normally it is called Elevated Rail or Tong Za.
Surprise, the whole section in HK were UNDERGROUND. So no impact from inclement weather with Typhoon there.
Imagine if we have one from Markham to Union all UNDERGROUND, is it not GREAT?
