9-18 Incident

Tomorrow,SEP18, is the anniversary of 9-18 1931. This is an important date in recent Chinese history.

I dug up afew videos from Youtube for young Chinese who might not know 9-18 or might haveforgotten about it.  Please remember thisdate, pass on to your friends, perhaps your children and theirs, and hopefully future generations as well.

If no Japanese, my parents might buy me a few sleep-in maids before I reach 14 and die of exhaustion before 21.  (Just dreaming!   )

Generalissimo is a PARACHUTE president, relying on airplanes to FLY over China and never stay at a place too long except Taiwan, supported by USA armed forces.

If Chinese communists got air force or antiaircraft guns, he will not last too long with all the security agents.

You are wrong!

Generalissmo  was the only person in China at that time who could rally the Chinese to fight the Japanese.  That is why during the Si-an Incident 西安事變，when he was captured by Chang Sheu Liang 張學良, who was influenced by Communist propaganda, at a time when the Chinese Communists were cornered and facing elimination, Mao and Chou wanted to have Chiang executed, but Russian stepped in and stopped them, because if Chiang was gone, the Chinese military and resistance against Japanese will collapse, and Russia immediately will have to fight the Germans  on the West and the Japanese on the East.

Without the Si-an Incident, Chinese Communist will be gone.

After the war, talks between KMT and Chinese Communists collapsed and fighting continued.  The general public was so tired of war and fighting, particularly against each other; in addition, USA's General Marshall came to China to mediate cooperation between KMT and Chinese Communist without success. He returned to WH, giving President Truman his advice to abandon KMT (stopped shipping military equipments to KMT while Russia turned over all weapons surrendered by Japanese to the Communist ), in addition Truman issued the famous "White Paper" on China, denouncing KMT, that contributed to the collapse of KMT's military.  So, within one year, mainland China fell to the Communists but China did not lose the whole mainland to Japan in close to 15 years' of fighting.
