Special Counsel during congressional hearing said that OLC (office of legal counsel within DOJ) has a rule since Nixon that a SITTING president cannot be indicted, similar to laws in other countries that one must wait for the term to be finished before the current president will be arrested.
He did say that after DT leaves the office, he could be in jail, thank God.
Whole thing about US politics is caused by the democracy defined by the voter boundaries.
Namely GerryMandering to make sure one party has a better chance to get elected.
Then the electoral college can be manipulated to further favor one party.
It is NOT majority rules, especially when more minorities, women, urban voters are counted, as witnessed by the 2016 election.
Also funny that any type of peoplle can be a leader, without any prior political experience, such as movie actors, comedians, celebrities and others who know nothing about some laws. No ethics by hiring relatives.
One might think that to elect a rich person is a safe bet, as there is no need for corruption or bribes as one can only use so much money, NOT. It may be only crooks can get filthy rich and they would like to be RICHER. There is no shame in conflict of interest, and of course no perceived conflict of interest for sure.
Looking forward to Jan 2021 when someone could be in handcuffs for the bad deeds he did to USA. |
