I took that train ride many years ago.  It was well worth the trip!

Be prepared to have 3 days for it because driving there for the train ride is already one day + Picked up ticket.

The train ride itself, lunch, + return took up 2nd day.

Drove back to Toronto took up the third day.

I understand that if you want, can spend the night there instead of coming immediately.  Also, the train operates in winter, weather permitting of course.

Going UPHILL into the mountains, cannot go fast.

Comfort-wise, cannot compare with train ride across the Canadian Rockies to the West Coast, however, it is only a 3hr (?) ride.
