The weird game pokemon go

last time when I take the bus for a tour, i saw two middle-aged men were playing pokemon go. This game is still popular? unbelievable. I personally played that for a while and then quitted out of bordem.
I think this game is innovative and has some value. However, not good enough.
The technologies underlying this game  are LBS and AR.
The ideology is not satisfactory enough. I keep catching new pokemons and let them fight for nonsense.
What is the point of doing this repetitive moves ? Hard not to feel bored after a while.
