If you look at the typical law on smoking or possessing grass, it is just like good old Prohibition of Alcohol.
We all know the effect of alcohol and cigarette can kill, both first hand or second hand (alcohol by drunken driving killing others), where as grass can relieve pain for some patients or relax nerve for non paitents.
Too much money are spent by LE to control or prosecuting uses of grass. Once users have a criminal record, they will never get a good job and get back to main stream society. Why is regular alcohol user is not punished the same way or second hand smoke killing family members?
By getting rid of the stupid law on grass, tax could be lower due to lower expense of LE enforcement (rather the lack of it), less cops, less courts, less prisons, less unemployed due to the criminal record preventing one from holding a job.
Look forward to new law next July 1, though I am not a user of grass (tried it though, did not get high). |
