這是對Chinese 的錯誤理解. 正如當你說日本人, 美國人時....意思就是來自日本及美國的人. Ethnic Chinese 應是指華人,  而中國人就是來自中國的人. 新加坡人不會說自己是中國人, 他們只會稱為華人. 而CBC可能一生都未到過中國一次, 但他們卻被硬稱為中國人. 當中國移民入籍了加拿大, 他們法律上己失中國國籍, 他們成為了加拿大華人.

OK,  Chessmaster, I am not good at Chess.  Assume it is not GO ,  but Chinese chess right?

So all the shops should change it to 華人,  Actually I thought that is WHAT THEY MEANT.
Semantics  , does it really matter.
Just like Chinese mm could come from every where, including Taiwan, HK, Macau, South East Asia, Canada, Australia and you name it.

Chinese of  the world , UNITE.

First of all, my congratulations to you for being a "king" now!  

I agree with you.  According to Chinese law,  華人 is based on 血緣 and not citizenship.  血緣 is based on genetic father's and forefather's血緣, maternal 血緣 does not come into the picture.

Reading between the lines, I too believe the ad meant 華人. I mean it is obvious.

Whoever made the ad did not check for mistakes afterwards.

If they truly mean 中國人-only, then they are limiting their business to a small number which is counter-intuitive.

So logically they mean 華人 instead of just 中國人.

May be we need DNA ID card to prove whether or not we are REALLY Chinese.

But I notice shops are saying Asian ONLY,  whether or not that includes South East Asian (ie. East Indians or not, I do not know and do not care).  SO just pure semantics.  The best ID is your Greenback or Canadian Monopoly Money, ok.  As most shops will not take credit cards, debit card, bitcoin, blockchain, Alipay, Wechatpay ApplePay, SamsungPay  Unionpay etc.  haha.

When Keepers indicate "Asian Only", they might be thinking of East Asians only, i.e. Japanese, Koreans, Chinese only, however, the terms "Asian Only" is so ambiguous that it could include Turkish, Iranians, Iraqis, Syrians, Jordanians, Arabians, Ah Chas, Parkistanis, Asian-Russians, etc.  So, the Keepers don't know what they are getting into!
