In early morning (around 2 am in the dark) a US NAVY destroyer got hit by a Philippine container ship off the coast of Japan.
Luckily it was NOT Chinese Navy or Merchant ship,  you never know what Trump nuclear button could be pushed, hahaha.

How can the equipment on the destroyer not DETECT the incoming containership, were the sailors all sleeping with no one watching the water,  interesting.

Again, another destroyer of US hit merchant ship in Singapore.

This is PEACE time and not well trained US Navy at play.
What is there is a war with US,  can they win???  haha.

May be via Cyber warfare by Google, Facebook, Apple software.  Not with military force for sure.

Research on why US battleship would always lose sailors when hit by merchant ship, while merchant ship had NO ISSUE.

Conclusion :

1. The merchant ships required by law to have double hull  (ie two outer shells with some distance between the two.  So when outer most shell got hit,  still would not leak Oil or other goods carried by the ship into the water.   Destroyer NO since they need the lighter weight to sail faster during the battle.

2. Merchant ship crews live way above the sea level, but Navy ships had to put all the sailors around or lower than the sea level.  Therefore could lose sailors falling into the water.

Please either do proper research or quit spamming the forum with posts of topics you know nothing about (other than perhaps reading a single news article).

Factual Errors

Only TANKERS which transport oil are required by law to have double hulls. Regular cargo ship have no such requirement.

Destroyers don't have double hulls not because of speed but because there is no benefit of having double hulls. Naval battle today is conducted mostly by missiles which would have no problem penetrating double or even triple or quadruple hulls.

Merchant ships still have crews manning the lower decks. Naval ships have crews both above and below the waterline.

The problem with US military is that they always think they "大鳩哂", and will not give way to anyone.

It is common sense that:
1.  Smaller ships must give way to larger ships.
2.  Ships require more distance to stop and more space to maneuver.

So, when a smaller navy ship does not give way to a much larger container ship, it gets what it deserves!

On "youtube", there is a recording of 2-way dialogue between an American commander of an US expedition fleet (many vessels) demanding a land-based light tower which shows up on the radar as a dot, to give way.  It was so funny, I must dig it up for you guys.

Latest video showed that Sailor did fishing and playing poker during the collision.  Vacation time indeed.
Are they ever battle ready,  NOT.
