It's a dream of mine to own a ferrari 458 one day

When money is not an issue, then buying expensive car is just to satisfy ego, nothing else!

When money is not an issue, and you need a car to show off and yet you can drive and hopefully under your control, then top of the line Porsche Cayman should be a top choice. I think it is 1/4 million $.

Even when money is not an issue, you must consider after sales service. When qualified mechanics are not available to service you car (even expensive cars require regular servicing), even expensive car is just a piece of scrap metal!

Honda Civic is a good choice if budget is $30K +/-.

Golf GTI for a budget of $40K.

Golf R for a budget of 45K +/-

For a budget of $250K, then a lot of possibilities:

Porsche Cayman (latest version for power, mid-engine, and AWD) for performance,
BMW 7 Series sedan for comfort and elegance,
Audi R8 V12 (?) for showing off.

I have not considered MB which I think is over-priced despite the fact that I am talking about a budget of $250K!

I will add Audi TT RS (#527 under Cars & Driver) as my serious choice since I don't have a budget of $250K.
