Unique US culture re: Health care and Gun ownership

US is unique in those areas:

1. Gun ownership can NEVER be banned, even for AK47.

2. Health care votes are killing fields. Heard that after Obama care passed by Democrats, the Dem lost 63 congressmen next election year.
Now the prediction is that Republicans will lose seats during NEXT election for voting for Trump care. Main issue is Pre existing conditions and medicaid expansion savings or cutback by Trump care.

We will see.

That is only step 1 of lots of steps.
It ain't going to happen.
Whoever voting for it, may be out of office next 2018 election, just like Dem voting for old Obama Care lost TOO.
That was giving out money to people, Trump care is TAKING away money from people.
You cannot win either way, two sets of mentality.

呃，加拿大一般是不能买枪用来自卫的（特出情况除外，比如说购枪防熊）。在这儿枪械只有两个合法用途：打靶，狩猎。

Only the HOUSE version was passed.
Senate failed.
Even if senate passed, it needs to be reconciled with the House version to get to the FINAL version.

No new version until further notice.

It is amazing to find that US Congress is so OUT with all the latest technology using ROLL CALL to vote.

ONE PUSH on a keypad wireless or otherwise will do, instantaneously.
Yes may need to verify with a Confirmation just in case wrong button was push (YES or NO), then CONFIRM. Visual check on the board just in case some thing malfunction.

Save lots of time by doing so.

IMO the US healthcare problem is one about too little IP rights, not too much. Other first world countries can pass laws to fix low prices, and still enjoy great healthcare R&D, because the Americans are paying for everyone.

Once a drug or technology is developed, it's relatively cheap to provide more... which is why some say the first pill of the production line costs $2 Billion, but the second costs $0.02.

I'm happy that Canada is free-riding on US R&D, since our demographics are really similar... but from the US point of view, it'd be best for them to make sure other first world countries share the costs of medical innovation.

US has too much IP rights , IMO.
Like you said, first pill is 2 Bn, second costs 2 cents.

But they try to squeeze the rich country for R&D, and due to power of other poorer (including Canada) countries in negotiating, they just let them to have it at lower prices.

If US drug prices will be lowered , especially after the latest round of health care act not being changed, they will target drug prices to lower the health care costs.

The other issue is the right to sue in US. Doctors are paying a lot of insurance to protect themselves from lawsuits.

It will be nice if FDA will lower the cost of getting the drug into the market and allow some less measures to test the drug till no one will die from it. So what if someone could die, since no one is of the same composition. We need to take calculated risk and less tests to implement a drug.
