CRTC has an interim ruling that the third party ISP should benefit from their last mile connectors (Bell, Telus and Rogers) in cutting their costs.   The majors one should charge only their costs plus 10% markup and NO MORE.

So for sure Tecksavvy is reducing monthly fee by $5 a month,  wonder if CIK will follow suit and I paid by Annual fee, how about a refund.

This world is now divided into Have and Have nots,    INTERNET that is.
I must say that I can do without Cell phone data plan or TV subscription,  but NOT INTERNET connection WIFI or wired that is.

I think they ruled it as a "basic service" instead of a "right".

Basic service means they want it to be available to every Canadian household, just like water and electricity, but doesn't mean for free though.

A right would be something everyone would be entitled to, without having to pay for it.

Basic service means they want it  ...

I stand corrected.

There is no free lunch.  Even clean air in China is not available up north.
Basic service it is.

Next step, lower the price of Wireless data plan,  that should be Basic Service too.
