Global warming and polar bear

Just happened to watch TVO on polar bear.
Interesting documentary from BBC, may be Earth series.

Global warming is melting the polar ice.  Contrary to my belief, polar bears cannot swim for long.  They need ice over water to survive.  They hunt via air holes in ice to catch the seal when they come up for air.
Unfortunately that clip did not show a bear catching its prey.  It did try to hit something on a hole and he was waiting to ambush.

Amazing that polar bear can do without food for 6 long months, even feeding cubs with her milk.
How can she produce liquid for the milk for 6 months while not moving.   If we humans can get some of their genes to do the same,  all of us can become skinny without diet and exercise, right.  Please do more research on them before they become extinct from global warming (please fix it, TRUMP).
