President Obama's first confirmed cabinet was a diverse mix in terms of race and gender (65% male, 52% white), but it was 0% billionaire. President-elect Trump's picks so far for cabinet positions will tip the scales more in his own image, increasing the percentage of white men and billionaires. Fewer than half of the appointees Trump–an outsider himself–has selected have any government experience. For comparison, 96% of George W. The first billionaire U.S. president has appointed two billionaires and at least nine millionaires, with a combined net worth of about $5.6 billion, to run government departments.
