All incumbents should have term limit (no matter how great a politician is, he or she is NOT a Saint.). China has 10 years, US president 2 terms (Congressman can go to jail or UNlimited terms!!!). Somehow parliamentary system has no limits and get call election at will (sometimes a waste of money). So even if S. Harper is good, he had his say.

Thats something I keep telling my friend, Canada copies the whole system from UK. And nothing improvement ever since, no 3rd branch to oversee how the government do, its fundamentally wrong

agreed. also, the whole election mechanism needs to be reformed. Liberals only had 39% of the popular vote but they managed to form a majority government. I'm not supporting the shit head Harper, but there are 31% percent of Canadians who voted for the Cons. And their values and opinions may be under-represented. Head of a party should not be guaranteed with the PM title. The US system isn't perfect, but I think it's still better than our current one
