中國抗日戰爭暨世界反法西斯戰爭勝利70周年慶典3日舉行，在哈佛大學中國學生學者聯合會(HCSSA)協同麻省理工學院和東北大學中國學生會組織下，近200位波士頓地區學生學者集體在哈佛大學教學樓收看閱兵慶典網路直播，現場歡呼和掌聲不斷，愛國情緒高漲。

據HCSSA主席孫陸介紹，早在閱兵式要舉行前數周，就陸續有留學生在社交媒體詢問在美觀看閱兵式網址，HCSSA於是決定提供便利，組織同學們集體觀看。誰知一開放報名便名額滿檔，原定容納100人的教室，擠滿近200位參與者，不少學生站著堅持看完近兩小時的閱兵，期間幾乎無人離席
活動當天，當閱兵式一開始中國國歌響起時，到場者全都自動起立齊聲合唱。當中國國家主席習近平出現在屏幕上時，大家紛紛鼓掌歡迎「習大大」，並為習主席宣布裁軍30萬喝采。

在閱兵儀式中，戰機打出的「70」字樣，以及狼牙山五戰士、導彈和女兵方陣的出現，都引發現場陣陣掌聲和驚歎聲。特別是抗戰老兵方陣出現在螢幕上時，同學們或敬禮，或鼓掌，或熱淚盈眶，或跟身邊朋友講述祖輩參加抗戰事蹟，用各種方式表達對這些抗戰老英雄的敬意。

孫陸說，雖然學子們身在海外，但心繫祖國。此重要時刻將同學們聚到一起，意義重大。希望以此為契機，讓同胞銘記歷史，保存最珍貴的民族記憶，珍惜用鮮血和生命換來的和平；同時藉由媒體在波士頓祝福祖國繁榮昌盛，人民幸福安康。

哈佛神學院學生榮蔚表示，她看到老兵方陣時心裡激動和感動久久不能平復。看到年輕戰士英姿颯爽、氣勢高漲，更讓她看到未來希望，倍受鼓舞，希望將這股正能量注入平時的學業和生活中，心繫祖國放眼世界。

哈佛電子工程系學生劉成業，則從專業角度看到中國軍事力量的進步，導彈部隊已從第二代更新到第三代，各方陣都充分展現國家綜合實力和軍事科技實力，讓他印象深刻，也倍感自豪。

東北大學學生會前會長姜奧迪表示，他已有近四年未回國，相信在場也有很多遊子跟他一樣在美奮鬥。在這個重要的日子能夠跟大家聚會到一起，除了是思鄉的慰藉，也讓大家牢記自己是根在祖國的中國人。

Implication from NO SHOW of North Korean leader that he and Xi are not on good terms.  On the contrary, there is saying that South Korean Pres may try to have a meeting with Xi in Oct or Nov to talk about unification of Korea.  With the unpopular kid in North Korea, reunification may solve the North Korean Nuclear threat once and for all, raise the standard of living for North Korea and provide badly needed manpower for South Korean economy and low birth rate.

I don't understand what are you talking about re "It was partially Chinese imperial regime bad doing that caused it.".  

Was a weak imperial regime a justification for all Western countries + Japan to try to colonize China?  

Please read history again, after the first Chinese (Ching Dynasty)/Japanese War, Ching Dynasty's "Northern Ocean Fleet" was wiped out.  A Treaty was signed, aside from giving up territories, Ching Dynasty was forced to pay Japan's military expenses which Japan used to further modernize its military.  This further help Japan's aggression.

It is FAIR for China to ask for compensation after the WW-II but China didn't.  Did Japan compensate other S.E. Asian countries for damages done?  Absolutely.  Go check it out.

The problem with Japan's renewed ambition is that it has never considered being beaten in WW-II, let alone by the Chinese.

Japan was developing some kind of A-Bomb at the time, but USA got it first via captured German scientists.  Had Japan got it first & used them on USA and China, today's history will be completely re-written!

I dug up the above video to show us all how Willy Brandt, then German Chancellor, expressed Germany's remorse, regret, sorrow for the harm, atrocity, brutality, on Polish & other nationalities during a visit to Warsaw in 1970 when he knelt in front of a WW-II memorial.

Japan did just the opposite, paying respect to war criminals "housed" at the National Shrine annually, denied the Rape of Nanking ever happened, amended primary school text books to portrait Japan as a victim of the war, currently in the process of constitutional amendment to facilitate re-armament.

How can we ever forget?????
