THIS NEW, NUCEAR-ARMED BOMB IS THE MOST DANGEROUS IN USA’S MILITARY ARSENAL:
Two summers ago, we showed you an awesome Nerf sentry gun that could track opponents and nail them with foam darts. Today, we’ve got the military equivalent: a laser turret that can down a drone in seconds.
Boeing calls it Silent Strike, and they label it as a directed energy weapon. More precisely, it’s a 2 kilowatt laser, the little brother to Boeing’s “death ray on wheels,” which straps a 10 kilowatt laser on to the back of an armored transport. Engineer Isaac Neil likens the systems’ attack to “a welding torch being put on a target, but from hundreds of meters away.”
This new version is much, much more portable than the 10kW behemoth. Silent Strike breaks down into four separate components, each of which can be transported by two soldiers — or, perhaps one day, on the back of one of Boston Dynamics’ robotic quadrupeds.
Boeing has showed off the compact Silent Strike before, but previous demos weren’t quite as challenging. While the laser was taking down drones, they were either resting on the ground or tethered and therefore much easier targets. For this latest test, Boeing ditched the wire.
That didn’t pose a problem. A blast targeted at the helpless drone’s tail section knocks it out of the sky in around 15 seconds. Neil says it’s so fast that “if you were on the receiving end, you’d have no idea where it was coming from or what was happening.” Not bad for a system that can be assembled in the field in about 15 minutes.

Saw this video on CCTV new channel. Google it and sure enough more detail shown. High tech will fight the future wars, no need for more soldiers unless one needs to control internal turmoil, oppression or colonizing other countries (like Crimea back to Russia, not exactly, reverse what Krusshiev did back in 1953).

I think they provide lots of news on Chinese Corruption disclosure. My favorite subject other than MM (number one). I know that. Lots of mainlanders are reading this to get an "UNBIASED" view, including my father in law from Shanghai.
Prior to the First Sino-Japanese War, foreign experts all thought China would win. Our navy looked stronger on paper based on specs such as total tonnage, manpower, etc. However the Qing navy was so utterly corrupt that it just fell apart against the Japs. Today, the PLA looks formidable on paper too and its got some pretty high tech toys, but corruption is once again a major issue.

Not if xi dai dai has his way and NOT assassinated. He is jumping all the hoops to get there. Unless he is actually playing power struggle for his own personal FAME gain. Eliminating all potential opponents.
