Women's soccer, even at world class level, used to be like a bunch of junior school students kicking a ball - you pass the ball to the other side & the side passes back to you, extremely boring, frustrating, & disappointing .....

Women's soccer has come a long way and the play is now entertaining + exciting, particularly Germany & Japan.  2015's USA is one grade below, can only produce lapses of brilliance.

USA 2, GERMANY 0.

The unexpected happened.  Germany missed a penalty kick, while USA was awarded a penalty kick when the foul happened just outside the 18-yd box.  Nevertheless, USA played better than Germany who had no answer for USA's defense.

Let's hope that the other game (Japan Vs England) which will be played tomorrow, will have a normal result, i.e. Japan wins, otherwize the final will be lopsided, while the battle for 3rd place will be much more interesting.

It happened again!!! How on earth the U.S always get the benefit of the call again????

Of coz Germany doesn't have anyone to blame but themselves.... sigh...

Let's hope Sushi wins over fish and chips today and beat the hamburger in the finals!

Another unexpected result:  England was beaten by Japan via its own goal.

England 1, Japan 2.

Who would have thought that Japan would have that much of a hard time against England?

England's "own goal" was not that Japan was lucky, it was actually Japan's constant offensive pressure and stamina  (Japan was visibly faster towards the end of the game) which forced England's defender to pass the ball back to the goalie which culminated the own goal.
