The purpose of the points system is to be a guage of how much time/contribution a member has made to the forum, and use that as a measure for how credible that member is.
The system is designed so that shills cannot easily and quickly level-up and get a senior account. That is why there's a hourly and daily limit to the amount of posts that can be made. This prevents attempts to amass points by spamming.
A senior account shows that someone actually has been here for a long time and/or contributed alot. That's why you newbies keep complaining that its hard. Its like a freshman universtity student expecting to get a doctorate degree in a couple of weeks and complaining why the university is making it so hard. Its supposed to be!
If points could be purchased, that defeats the whole purpose of the points system. Its like asking the university to just set a fixed price and sell degrees to anyone willing to pay without having to attend class or put forth any effort.
Lastly, there are tons of posts you can engage with. Most posts are not restricted. And the ones that are restricted, are usually restricted for a reason (controversial or questionable content). |
