It is NOT a fair comparison of speed on the track because the Ford RS has 2.3L Turbo engine while the VW Golf R has only 2.0 Turbo.

However, for daily commute and country back road driving, the R has a much better ride than the RS.

One other thing to consider - the build quality. Once this element comes onto the scene, Ford will have a lot of question marks!
