"Lonely Planet" lists best 10 cities to visit in 2019:

Think Guangzhou is better than both Shenzhen and HK.
Was in the area north of Canton Tower.  Next to 3 malls adjacent to each other and Sheraton/Marriott hotels cheapest roon 1300 RMB, but I stayed at 300 RBM room very close by.
