I'm wondering also if bros wouldn't mind estimating how common the barebacking proposition is in their experience. For me, it hasn't been super common -- 4 percent -- but to have been offered BBFS in 4 percent of my mm encounters is still concerning. 10 percent would be truly alarming, I think. Of course, it was tempting. But my health is way too important to me. I did not and would not risk it.

I would say about 5-7 percent of the time with the ones I have dealt with.

My friend say he's been offered more often than that.

None of it was requested or nor was any more money asked for.

That's a great question..

I almost could understand it if it was offered as a premium service, for extra $100 or whatever.  You can say money talks.  But the few times I was offered (well, not explicitly like others have said...), I got the impression that it was almost a spurt of the moment thing and there wasn't any up-selling involved.  At least they didn't ask for any. If that really is the case (and we will need to verify from those who did take the offer), then why would they want to do that?!  For repeat business?  For good reviews?  

I really don't get it!!!

In my encounters, there was no upselling at all -- standard fee. But after I went home and thought about why this might have happened, I figured they were just trying to land me in the same way Hemingway liked to reel in marlins. Well, this fish didn't bite.
None of this means that I would necessarily be opposed to having BBFS with an ex-pro, but she would have to be clean and totally off the market. (We've had discussions of this type before. Some guys are ok with it. Some dudes aren't.) But there's no way I'm having BBFS with or dating a pro while she's still working. That shit's crazy. Just a recipe for disease and heartache.
