I agree with Southern Ontario's forecast because just like 2017, we had a warmer than usual summer, i.e. the lake water is warm and will neutralize any cold spells, which means the temperature would be lingering between +1 C to -2 or -3 C, which is ideal for snow falls.
So by end-OCT, we must get ready for the winter, i.e. tune up our snow blowers (please read my posts on that subject), stock up on de-icing salt, and wind shield fluid, and shovels too if the snow blower won't start!
Also always warm up first before you shovel to prevent injury!
