China suffered a lot over 200+ years. Reason being 領導終身制. The world understand this. Only China's 习大大 (not Mr Deng)  reverted back to this kind of administration.
Corruption is human things derived from greedy. No medicine for 100% cure. Only 道德 education (not academic education) make it subducted. hoping 习大大 understand this.
Freedom of mind is the only medicine to move on to innovation. Free mind needs interaction of communication including speech.

Imposed tariff on imports are Trump's finance policies. Not particularily against special countries. Or you may say it targeted US factories in China.

Think US TRUMP is the only one concerned about SECURITY.

Think Again.

China got blackmailed by US for ZTE, by refusing to export electronic components for their phone.  ZTE had to pay big fine to get those imported for their phones again.

US and other countries use US GPS to navigate.  China cannot afford to do so, or in case of conflict, their navigation system will be compromised big time.

Same with Computer chips.  Qualcomm exports half of their communication and processor chip to China, without lots of phone will be out of commission.  Yes Huawei has their Kirin chips for their Huawai and Honor brand, lucky us.  Or we are dead on phones without any conflict.

Now if China is way ahead in 5 G, US will definitely in BIG trouble.

Dude, US never copying but initiates it's own accord. My points to your topic is that China really wants to win in tech race are FREE IT'S OWN PEOPLE MIND. I've no offense against Chinese but 習大大 himself alone. Mr Deng set the 10-years-limit term had been reverted by Mr 習. Life term suspend new innovation or thoughts. Then endup no more  FREE IT'S OWN PEOPLE MIND.

Those are telecoms, not Communication equipment.
Cisco on network side, Quadcomm on phone modem side.
No politics, just technology.
Huawei all the way.

美國頂尖智庫專家Scott Kennedy昨日來到香港大學，發表題為《中國科技崛起的全球影響》的演講。他認為中國科創雖然大有進步，但不少產業受政府主導大而無當，在全球市場造成負面影響.
