Another factor which I think is often overlooked regarding why so many girls continue working this job so late into their lives is that women's selection of men follows a Pareto statistical distribution which is highly asymmetric and skewed meaning that most women will only settle for a small portion of men. This means that those men that are 'good enough' will already be taken leaving many women without a man, and hence forcing a lot of women to continue working this job. Being aware of this fact, the only thing we can do as men is improve ourselves as individuals so that we're 'good enough' and we get chosen so that less girls have to keep working this job. There are other factors too.
