Competitive Advantage from China now

In Marketing or Economics, we were told about Competitive Advantage of good old days.  When one country is good at doing certain things, it should be allowed to sell those things in exchange for other things created by other countries that they are good at.  Thus trade flourishes and every one "gains" to a certain degree.

Nowadays, China is still (but barely with other low wage countries) good at making small assembled or manufactured goods.
But the trend is towards other high tech, high value items.
World pioneer in Solar Cell panels, high speed train (and therefore elevated highways and tunnel drilling boring equipment), power plants,  highway construction, shipbuilding (Aircraft carriers),  air plane (civil transport and military ), payment systems (AliPay, Wechat pay etc, better than plain old credit card payments by Amex, Visa, MC etc),  automation within factories and transportation facilities (safety gates in the subway, highly informative display on the train, ease of entry via electronic cards Octopus like).

North American old way of highways and cars will no longer good for economy.  Congestion and time consuming on a daily basis.  Travel from one city to another nearby one does NOT make sense to go by airplane (more hassle to get to and from the airport and with security clearance and weather issues).
How often do we find 401 in GTA is flying except after 9 pm and before 6 am?

Time to rethink about how we can regain more time from our daily commuting experience will help every person quality of life.
