My detector unit arrived today via courier.

1.  Made in China, shipped from Shenzhen.

Final update:

1.  DELIVERY.  Prompt. 10/10.

2.  PRODUCT APPEARANCE:  Nice finish. 10/10.

3.  USER MANUAL.  Barely acceptable but immaterial as the equipment is simple enough to understand.  Left "key" is for volume up; centre key is a toggle between highway and city mode; right key is for volume down.  While the "screen" give indication of bands/fequency + intensity of signal via vertical bars.  8/10

4.  VERBAL ALERT.  Difficult to understand.  I still cannot get the third word, e.g. "KA"?"" 2/10.

5.  SOUND ALERT.  Poor!  Non-stop ""doo-(pause)-doo"" from one traffic light to the next.  0/10.

6.  RADAR DETECTION.  "5" above, should be for radar detection, how can the unit alert me when there is radar nearby and for me to distinguish the real from false alarms.  0/10.

7.  BOTTOM LINE.  This radar detector won't make the grades!  I will NOT recommend this unit/model to any serious users.  Bad investment?  Yes!
