Notice that Toronto charges 5 cents for Grocery bags. To save pennies for my other hobby, I would walk around the store to get a box (like costco, but not as big) to put my items in there.
Use the grocery bags to put green bin stuff in it next to kitchen counter.
BUT still a lot of Produce plastic bags left, as I try to eat more fruit and vegetables.
US supermarkets normally keep a container at the door to collect the GROCERY BAGS to recycle.
How about GTA supermarkets put out containers to both recycle plastic bags, and also CLEAN Styrofoam trays from produce and fruit items too. Knowing clean Styrofoam can be recycled with special ways, but may not worth much as a raw material for general collection. |
