Your comments sounded awfully familiar and I could figure out from where. Then it hit me, it was the concession speech from 7Samurai from the Joey thread. Here it is in its entirety:
First I would like to Thank Ben and the veterans wolves of 747. It was a fun journey from the inception of this site seeing it grow from a handful of us to where it is today. Back then there was nothing to lose and the direction was only up. There were many bumps and big challenges along the way but 747 struggled, fought, succeeded and prospered to where it is today. So congrats to Ben and his partner.
Today Ben needs to manage 747 as a business first and foremost. To look the other way and not care about what a "shady cast of characters" did at another site is a business decision. Just as long as they don't do the same shit on 747. I can respect Ben's POV as the "table stakes" have gotten larger and agencies have consolidated to a handful of big players.
My motivations have always been with good intent. No reason to lie or spin or cause harm. I made a conscious decision to NOT review anymore a few years ago.
Why? The temptations of getting close to Agency Owners and MM could lead down a very very slippery slope. It's easy to get sucked into this world of hot women, sex and fast money is seductive that few can turn away from. You start rationalizing and justifying to yourself that it's for the good of the MM and what's the big deal I'm having fun! That's the beginning of "crossing over the line".
There is nothing in it for me given I'm not beholden to anyone - agency owners, mm and forum owners. I'm fortunate enough to not have to rely on reviews. I know what I like. If I have a poor experience, I shrug it off and move onto next mm. I have the financial means and emotional tolerance.
Ask yourself "What's the motivation" of the cast of shady characters? Fun? Ego? Invested emotionally? Invested financially? Why the need to talk to girls and dig up personal info of customers?
Knowing what I know about the "shady of cast of characters" who migrated here, I've decided to follow the path of Pepsicrush. 99% of bros don't care where or how the meat merchandize comes from. Hear no Evil. See no Evil. There is no Evil.
I will do the honorable samurai thing and commit Identity Suicide. Hari Kari
