Use of QR code and WeChat in CHINA

Got onto a HK website and saw a MM or MPA QR code and scanned into WeChat.  Guess what I got connected and asked her where she is located.  Sure enough she accepted me and before she said it, I actually found out the phone number and where (SengZhen, Lo Wo to be exact).  I wish I could have use this tool when I was in Beijing and ChengDu.  Did not get any action then.  She asked me when am I going and told her "mission impossible" , Not in China.  

Why are our MM, especially those in Private not using this tool to cut down on phone calls, SMS and using WeChat instead.  No charges whatsoever.

Also I heard that one can use WeChat to recharge cell phone balance.  And to pay for train tickets etc.

So don't say WeChat is only for scams only, as long as buyer beware.

Unfortunately the fact is that WeChat really is for scams only.

That you aborted the mission shows that you understand this too. Wechat is a place where scammers of all kinds, not just sex trade, gather to rip off the naive. Imagine a railway station in China that is overrun with thieves, pick-pockets, con artists, etc, Wechat is the internet version of that.

At least with a forum there is a degree of oversight and we customers can warn each other. Its not a perfect system but there is some checks and balances. On Wechat we have absolutely no way to authenticate what we are presented with. Scammers can open hundreds of accounts and say whatever they want to trick the customer. There is no way to even warn your own friends if you get scammed because scammers keep switching to new accounts which they can open for free.

Hence more and more scammers use Wechat while legit providers use other avenues.
