新人如何搜索報告 / how to search reviews by newbies

Often see guys asking for reviews for MM's. Most veteran wolves here and particularly the mods really hate lazy guys (aka 伸手黨). I understand that newcomers cannot use the built-in search feature of the forum until they progress to senior rank. I can also see that its human nature not to want to do the work of searching page by page for reviews.

Actually there is a simple hack for newbies to conduct searches.

Google >>> search "AZN747 + (name of MM)"

Voila!

The way fireandice mention, google may also show results from sites other than 747.

So to be more specific:
Google >>> search "XX site:azn747.com" where XX = name of MM (or anything you want to search, even members name)

example: If I am looking for Pia I will type in pia site:azn747.com
Google will then list everything with the words 'Pia' from the website azn747.com only

Try it, this way is better

Well, it depends on what software this board/forum is on. If you look at the very bottom of the page you will see:

Powered by Discuz! X3.2

© 2001-2013 Comsenz Inc.

So it is a bit outdated. The built-in search function is just a very basic version that was developed many years ago. And usually search is not a priority, so the developers don't put much effort to improve that facet.


Google, on the other hand, is a search engine and their priority is to develop search tools/function. That's why they improve and update themselves constantly. If you pay attention they always bring out new function.

As far as I know, currently, 747 forum is viewable publicly (Public Forum), so the answer is YES, use the Google method I mentioned and you can find everything on the 747 active database.


[Google can only search and find webpages that are viewable publicly, meaning the page can load (be open) without having to register as a member. 747 is advertising forum, hence it is at this time still a public forum.

On the other hand, there are (other) forums that only members can see and read.
Google won't be able to search through those 'private' forums.]
