Do you remember this date – OCT 10, 1911?
How many of us still remember this date? Regardless of your political affiliations, this is a very important date in modern Chinese history.
This was the date which officially triggered the collapse of the Ching Dynasty, & it is called 武昌起義. When the Republic was formed, OCT10 or 10-10 has become the National Day & is observed by Taiwan & many oversea Chinese.
Had the 10-10 uprising failed, & the Ching Dynasty prevailed, China would be colonized & divided up by at least 10 foreign powers, with the main bulk of Chinese land (& labour of course) going to Japan, and Japan could well be the world's military & economic power.
Japan will also celebrate the fore-sight of "Tanaka Referendum 田中奏摺" which blue-printed its ambition of becoming a world power by first swallowing China, then the rest of S. E. Asia to form a “Great Asia Co-prosperity Sphere 大東亞共榮圈”.
Japan will then move both east & westward to challenge for world supremacy.
The success of 10-10, & the subsequent, moderate progress of the Republic, forced Japan to accelerate its aggression towards China from 蠶食 to 狂吞.
Well, the rest is history.

Please read #51 of the above, Japan, today, is still following the plan laid out in Tanaka Referendum, therefore PM Abe who is a distant nephew of an un-prosecuted WW-II war criminal, visited Japan's National Shrine in the last 2 years, to pay respect to mass murderers who were tried & executed by Allied & Chinese Governments, but their name plaques are keep in the National Shrine to represent the Japanese Spirit.
The Shrine visits have been a thorn in Japan's relationship with both China & Korea.
Only ignorant US politician, e.g. Obama is one, still believes that Japan is the victim & is being bullied by
China. |
