(Ben-gor, Please allow this announcement to use this Corner until I have finished uploading the links.)

I have posted a series of documentary videos with the above title under blow-water.  This documentary consists of 40 episodes, each of about 30', it is a very interesting, educational video.

I shall upload the links gradually so that you can enjoy them slowly with the whole family.

NATIONAL MEMORIAL.  If the translation is not correct, please let me know)

At an early age, I have been brain-washed re “對鏡整衣冠,讀史知興亡”, I am therefore addicted to studying history, particularly events in the last 100 years.

As we approach the 75th anniversary of “7/7 Incident, 七七事變”, I researched & stumbled upon a rare documentary (40 episodes each of about 30”, totalling 20 hours’ of viewing), which is entitled 國殤, the closest translation which I can come up is The National Memorial.

THIS IS A RARE FIND.  It can be enjoyed by the whole family, particularly if you are interested in history, or events which affected the lives of every Chinese in the last 100 years. I urge you to view the videos, & save them for future reference.

This documentary started by touching briefly on events which weakened the Ching Dynasty, the rise of Imperial Japan & its plan, based on “Tanaka’s Referendum田中奏摺”, to form an East Asia Mutual Prosperity Circle 東亞共榮圈with Japan in the centre, prospering on human resources &, natural resources from China & all of S. E. Asia.  To achieve this goal, then China must be conquered in the first place.

This led to the 1st Sino-Japanese War 甲午戰爭, then the 2nd Sino-Japanese War with  蘆溝橋事變 as the curtain raiser.

The Documentary then dwell in depth on various events during the the 2nd Sino-Japanese War, e.g.
The defense of Shanghai,
The Si-an Incident,
The Fall & Rape of Nanking,
The battle of Hsu-zhou,
Duel along the Yangtze,
The battle of Chang-sha,
The Burma Road,
Unit 731, Using Chinese as Human Guinea Pigs For Studying & Refining Bacterial & Biological Weapons

It also explained why the Nationalist Government was initially reluctant to engage the Japanese military, because it was like a 19th century army fighting a 20th army, on top of that, there was no Chinese Air Force to speak of, the goal was therefore limited engagement to give time for Government & civilians to move the country’s limited assets to the Western part of the country; dubious allies; Japan’s bacterial & biological warfare; it also interviewed surviving Chinese soldiers, army officers, government officials, Japanese soldiers, bacterial lab technicians, etc., etc.

Without viewing these videos, we will have no idea of the hardship which our grandparents endured, the sacrifices which they made;  the unspeakable crimes & atrocities (The Rape of Nanking is only one of many) committed by the Japanese army on the Chinese people.

Be forewarned that you will shed tears!

Dragon hing, I could not have agreed with you more. Friends are friends but lets not forget history. Unfortunately lots of Chinese forget history or did not study history especially the fxxxing Hong Kong TV stations. they just love to show how good Japan is. Once you look at the pics or read books about Japan invasion of china, it will always remains in your mind the scenes of raping, killings and using live Chinese for bacterial and biological studies. They cut the Chinese wide open without anesthetic. By the way, the American confiscated all the medical study documents after they occupied Japan, that's why they are so advance in medical field.

LCY has a few new & not so new girls working tomorrow.

That Corraine (check speling), if she is the one who worked previously @ MW, has very favourable reviews.
She is VP Marketing - Toronto Cum-brotherhood Association.

Of all the crimes & atrocities commmited by the Japanese during the Sino-Japanese War, 2 events were most well known - The Rape of Nanking & Unit 731.

I have decided to post what I uncovered so far on the above two subjects under separate headings in Blow Water Section, so that we & future generations do not forget.

Mind you, the Japanese Government has constantly denied that any of these have ever happened, & year after year, the Japanese prime minister still pays annual tribute to Japanese war dead at the famous Shrine (forgot the name).  This has always been a thorn in Japan's relations with China & Korea -- the two countries which suffered the most.

The following CNN's JUN06 2012 news clip reports another maneuvir/denial of the Japanese Govt on another issue, the Comfort Women:

To-day is the 76th anniversary of the 7/7 Incident which officially started the most recent war between China (the victim) & Japan (the aggressor).

I will not repeat what has been said under #1, I just want to move this thread to the top so that we all remember this day & the notorious crimes committed by the Japanese Army on innocent people of China  .
