军阀 aka 土匪 1911~1949
There are hundred thousand of group of them spread out in China. Some hv 500k people (张作林). Some hv only a hundred. Some of them good (to people) and most of them bad.
孙's 三民主义 failed because of them. Therefore 蒋 was ordered to clear them out. Which he did [型色上] just before the sino-Jap war.
Most 军阀/土匪 are uneducated people or 贫农. Some of them joined KMT's army or joined 共产党 later. In deed a large portion of them remain act alike 土匪 with KMT's flag (For example 张作林). With large group of these people walking under KMT's flag that's why 毛 keep saying 蒋 is new 军阀.
毛 leaves KMT and continues his 共产党 which ran into seperate direction.
The structure in China that years contain 90% of uneducated/贫农/无知学生. These group of people tired and not trusting anybody. Suddenly they see 毛 [arm 嘴型] with same background. They follow/support 毛. (I doubted, including 毛 himself, understand 共产 or 马克思主义) ... see note below.
This group of people grew larger and larger. Later they even dare to do itching at backline in sino-Jap war. Even after WW2 when 蒋 disarmed his troops and some of them joined 毛 (not 共产党).
When 毛 took control China in 1949 US embargoed to all China's trade including artilleries. By luck it ends 军阀年代 and stop its reborn.
Note: When I am teenager I heard about 共产 but don't know what is it about even I have HK high school education. Few years later even after U I knew only a little more than nothing (about 共产主义). How about you? Therefore I can imagine these group of 贫农/无知学生 are following 毛 (not 共产党). That's why I say 毛 is bad (not 共产党).

In 1949 毛 benefits from those "uneducated/贫农/无知学生" and have his political 生崖 reached to the top. By all means under democracy system he would be elected as leader anyway. In this aspect he believes he is right (nowhere near wrong). He stayed his eye/mind 20 years behind (year 1929).
Indeed 周/劉 undergoing reform. Which then I heard/read "打倒走资派" from 左派 media, in HK, that years.

I read quite a bit on the civil war. Rather complex, to my surprise communist were inspired by the
elit scholars of the day. At that stage of the world they beieved the Russian model was the way to go.
CKS siezed the moment, but he's only a second rate soldier. He lost. Mao was a great military leader.
However, he was a poor ruler. China was unified again. |
