I took a long time for Red Bull to deliver!

Ever since end of 2017, RB was rumoured to have the car with best air dynamics, but they never delivered until  the last 2 reasons but they threw it away when team-mates collided and took both out.

During the practice sessions, both RBs were fastest, but Max crashed and could not take part in the official qualifying and must start last.

Riciardo maintained his speed, and was ahead of everybody.

Vittel was second, 3rd was Hamilton.

The Monaco track is difficult to overtake, starting grid could well decide the race.

Qualifying highlights.

There will be live telecast of the 2018 F-1 Monaco GP.

In my area, it is Channel 30 at 0810 (very odd time).  Please check your local listing.

Monaco is always fun to watch.  Drivers cannot make mistakes or they will hit the railings or the wall.

There will be a lot of accidents and official car will be out a lot of times.

Usually the driver with the best skill, even with a slightly less competitive car will win.

My predictions:

Daniel Ricciardo is the pole sitter and has a better chance than others.

Vettel is 2nd pole.  He is a dirty driver and impatient.  He may not finish the race.

Hamilton starts third.  He has the racing brains and will sit out for front runners' accidents to happen.

Max starts last in a fast car.  He can crawl back to 5th or 6th, and no better than that.

Let's check against my predictions in 4 hours time!

The Monaco F-1 GP has ended.

Not much exciting because not once was official car required, only a "virtual official car".

Ricciardo led from start to finish, Vettel came in 2nd, then Hamilton.

Not sure whether it was a cheating scandal:
Ferrari was suspected of getting more electrical power from the battery.  The Stewards investigated and said "it will be OK from now on".  What does that mean?  Does that mean it was a borderline cheating, but corrected to comply from now on?

I wish to add my observations to Daniel Ricciardo's win at 2018's Monaco F-1 GP.

1.  The win was no fluke.  as he was fastest in all practice sessions and fastest in qualifying.
2.  DR established his status as a good river right after joining Red Bull.  
Let us review history:  
Mark Weber left Rad Bull in disgust after Vettel disobeyed Team orders and overtook MW who was leading a race with a few laps remaining, when Vettel shouldn't.  Subsequently, the Team did not support MW or discipline SV, so MW left F-1 altogether.  Of courses, in previous races, Vettel pushed MW out of the track a few times with similar response from the Team.  (I commented previously that SV was a DIRTY DRIVER!)
The vacant seat was filled by DR who in a few races proved that he could beat SV, who was his team-mate & #1 driver for the Team.
SV felt his position was threatened, and when Ferrari offered him a ride, he deserted Red Bull.
So, DR became #1 driver at RB, and at that time Max Verstappen joined the team to fill the ride vacated by SV.
3.  DR almost won the 2016 Monaco F-1 GP but a pit stop mix up cost him a win then.  DR was radioed in to make a pit stop and when he did, the tires were not ready, which wasted valuable seconds, and DR lost that race to Lewis Hamilton.

In 2017 Red Bull was rumoured to have the fastest car due to more advanced air dynamics which never materialized.  It seems in 2018, RB has finally come of age and has a more competitive car, but IMHO, still not as fast as MB or Ferrari.  At least RB now has a fighting chance.

DR's contract with RB is up for renewal, there is rumour that he might join Ferrari as Rikkennan (check spelling) is retiring.

For sure, there will be live telecast, I would say around noon.  Check your local listing.

The qualifying Session of the Canadian GP has just finish.

Vettel, Bottas, Max, Hamilton, Kimmi, Riccciardo.

The lap times were so close that anyone could be the winner.

Live telecast will start at 1330 tomorrow which is NOT the start of the real race.  The race starts at 1400 +/-.

The Canadian F-1 GP finished a few hours ago & I never got around to give my views of the race:

1.  It was a boring procession.  Vettel led from start to finish and was NEVER challenged.

2. what surprised me was that Hamilton was never a factor in the race. In recent races, Hamilton performed poorly, out qualified, and out raced by his team mate.  (Hamilton even picked up a lucky win when Bottas had a puncture in Azerbaijan while leading the race with a few laps to go.
May be and just may be, Hamilton has already reached his career peak and from now on he is going downhill.

This is a "brave" forecast and after a few more races, we will have a better picture.


For 2018 season, Vettel is now 1 point ahead of Hamilton on the leader board.

May be Hamilton had too many girls to distract him!  
Go visit YouTube, search under "Hamilton's Girl Friends".  The latest one is an indication of Hamilton's bad taste:
1.  A black girl who was neither pretty nor attractive.
2.  No sure whether it was some kind of skin disease or makeup, the surrounding area of the lip was white, while other portion of her face was black.  NMCOT-la with that kind of make-up, if indeed it was make-up.
3.  May be she gives a superb BBBJ!
