The RDX is just an "also run" in a different and very competitive league .  It has to compete with BMW's X3 & X5, Audi's Q3, Q5, not to mention MB.  Even if it could offer more, brand image come into play.

The CRV has a much easier life because the only serious competitor is Toyota's RAV 4.  

Shooting one, stationary target is a lot easier than shooting MANY moving targets!

If you can afford a Porsche, don't count the nickels and dimes by buying a diesel because a diesel engine can NEVER generate the same HP as a gasoline engine.

Look at it this way, say, you are driving a diesel Cayenne S with a hot girl beside you, you stop at an intersection when the light turns red, a Honda Type R comes along and stops beside you.  When the light turn green, the Honda pulls away and its rear bumper gets smaller and smaller (because your diesel Cayenne is almost stationary), then you notice that the Honda has a custom plate which reads "Sayonara".

Cayenne is an excellent choice, but consider the Cayman GTS.
